In 2009, Ascom started a global Talent Development Program (TDP) to achieve the following objectives:
- align talent development with strategic needs
- get potential successors for Ascom key positions
- enhance business understanding and networking
A number of aspects make the program differ from similar initiatives in other companies. It is for example not only self funding, but even generates profit for the company by initiating Business Impact Projects, whose $-benefits more than compensate the costs of the program itself.
Integrating top-management (including the CEO), a high level of interactive, experiential learning, and some other design elements make the Ascom program an interesting reference for talent development programs.
In this LEADERSHIP Circle, David Whitehead, Head of Learning & Development, Group HR, Ascom, will present the success factors of his program. And he will share the next steps planned to continue an interesting success story.
